Community Engagement Specialist
Reporting to CEO.
Planning project:
Create a comprehensive plan for a project before it starts.
- Summarizing the project objectives,
- Creating a breakdown of work and providing a list of resources.
- A project plan may also include implementing a plan for any risks that may arise throughout the project.
- Outline deadlines, make contingency plans and schedule project completion.
Executing plans:
- Work with team members to accomplish the many tasks in a project by setting SMART goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-based.
- Implementing these goals helps set the parameters of a project's objectives.
- It's also important for the community engagement person to monitor the progress of the project by maintaining regular communication among all members of the team in Eden Valley.
Monitoring project:
- Monitor team on the ground to ensure all work is completed on time
- Submit reports on time
Closing out project:
Guide the successful completion of each project's deliverables as outlined.
Work with OSRA project team to wraparound all activities including project evaluation.
This includes a final check for quality and comprehensive completion before presenting the project to management/key stakeholders:
• Conduct an overview of the project
• Double-check the completion of each process
• Make any necessary corrections
• Deliver an assessment of the overall project
• Give final sign-off of completion on time
Communicating with team about the project:
- Maintaining consistent contact with team members
Writing reports:
- Put together reports for all activities for the project, training and tracking team progress.
This may also include gathering information for reporting business processes that a funder might require with the completion of a project.
Resolving conflict between team members:
- Work with the team member to overcome any conflicts that arise. This may include teaching their team to listen to each other, respect the perspectives of others and find collaborative solutions in a more respectable way.
Providing constructive feedback:
- This allows the team to learn from any mistakes and improve their processes during the project.
Must possess the following skills:
a. Knowledge on working with marginalized communities of AB
b. Good communication skills
c. Ability to work with minimum supervision
d.Good team player
e. Ability to compile information, write reports and presentations
f. Work at least 4 hours per week with some flexibilities
